We at SailCoach are sure you’re worried about the situation with the coronavirus and the number of regattas that are being postponed or cancelled in March and April 2020. Rather than disappoint your young sailors we at SailCoach would like to offer you a warm-weather training venue that is open for business for Optimist and Lasers sailors and their coaches.

We are offering our “SailCoach lite” for groups as a discounted price of €40 instead of the normal €55 per day, per sailor.

The basic package now starts at €40 per day, per sailor/coach and we aim to provide charter boats (Optimist or Laser), self-catering accommodation, and a charter coach boat (RIB) for your coach. We ask for a minimum of six sailors in any one group. If your group stays for an extra night at the start or finish of your stay, that night is charged at €20, per person, per night.

There is the possibility of add-ons to the above services for such things like airport transfers €5 per person, coaching €30 per day, strength and conditioning €25 per person, per week, etc. We can also provide you with an evening meal for €12 per person, per night in a local restaurant.

This is something you may like to think about, rather than cancelling your sailor’s sailing trips totally.

Why Malta?
Malta is the home of the SailCoach Foundation, whose innovative coaching has been at the forefront of dinghy sailing for over two decades. During that time, the foundation has won four Olympic Medals, and our coaching staff are considered amongst the best in the coaching business.

The climate is as welcoming as the people. Malta’s weather is typically the Mediterranean, with mild winters and hot summers. Winter days have an average of 6 hours of sunshine; this doubles in summer! Most winter days, the temperatures get to double figures and to make things even better, the average water temperature is 16°C; and 28°C in the summer. Malta sailing sessions are rarely lost because of too little or too much wind.

Getting to Malta:
The Maltese islands are served well by national and the low cost carriers, such as EasyJet, Ryanair, and Wizz Air.

Malta is safe:
The character of the Maltese population is typically Mediterranean – welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Crime rates are the lowest in Europe.

Accommodation is provided in a large, five-bedroom apartment, with two bathrooms, a large living room, and kitchen. It is also within easy walking distance of SailCoach’s SailBase, supermarket, and the shops.
