Skandia Sail For Gold Coaching Tour
The regatta will be sailed out of the Weymouth & Portland Sailing Academy which has became the first purpose-built sporting venue for the 2012 Olympic Games to be completed. The Sailing Academy that is based on the Isle of Portland, Dorset, will play host to the sailing events that will take place throughout the 2012 Olympics. This coaching tour will give sailors the opportunity to gain knowledge for the next Olympic sailing venue.
29th May
Fly into any of the London Airports and get a bus or train to Weymouth (around half a day’s travelling) from the venue and be met by one of SailCoach's friendly staff at Weymouth Train Station. They will take you the 10min drive to our regatta base, in the town of Weymouth.
30th May to 3rd June
Familiarization days, we have put these days into the programme to help you get to know your way around Weymouth and Portland, have time on the water getting to know the sailing conditions before it all starts for real.
4th to 9th June
Racing starts in the Weymouth World Cup regatta, in what promises to be a tough event with the finals being fought out on the last two days. SailCoach's experienced coaching staff will give you all the support you need on and off the water to help you reach your full potential and your regatta goals.
10th June
A member of the SailCoach staff will drop you off at Weymouth Train Station for your journey home, hopefully with a few prizes.
