Pre Clinic Entry Experience
This programme of clinics has been set up to provide a platform for sailors who have been active in their national sailing circuits and would like to make the transition to top level International Campaigning.

The programme will accelerate your learning and equip those sailors who lack the opportunity to compete at international level with the skills for that challenging environment.

This is an opportunity for Radial and 4.7 sailors to develop their talents so they can compete against the best in the world.

The programme will run this winter at our SailBase from October 2007 to February 2008 and is limited to 12 sailors, 3 of which will graduate into SailCoach’s Development Team for the 2008 regatta season.
Parents or Federations who sponsor a sailor for this programme will get a written report on the sailor's progress.

Campaign planning and Starting Technique
This first clinic will look at what we hope to achieve over the winter through this Champion Programme to advance your personal goals. Developing your mentally for the challenges of the new season, helping to plan your Laser campaign for to achieve those goals.

By focusing the time spend on the water which will provide a platform of experience along with the theory behind getting off the starting line with the best in the Laser class.

We will give you a number of top tips which will help your starting technique, reinforce the fundamentals of planning your start, run a number of advanced boat handling drills to develop you steering and positioning skills. Which will help you hold a place on the line and what you need to do to have that little edge of turbo boat speed to accelerate with pace of any starting ling….

Upwind and Downwind Speed
This clinic is all about upwind and downwind speed, it will also help you to develop a positive awareness as to the role fitness plays in an increasingly competitive sport. The longer races at Grade 1 events and at World and European Championships means those three race days can be gruelling if you have not prepared.

SailCoach prides itself on ore ability to improve downwind speed. It is with this competitive advantage that our sailors Vasilij Zbogar, Gareth Blanckenberg and Allen Julie have been able to win Olympic Medals and to climb up the ISAF World Rankings.

Tactics and Strategy
This clinic will focus on the thinking side of our game. We will look at the various situations that crop up around the trapezoid course and discuss the best way of dealing with them.

Courses will be set to ensure that there are plenty of tactical situations generated. We will be looking at the fleet strategy, boat to boat tactics and key transition points on the racecourse.

Sailors who accept entry into the SailCoach’s Champion Programme agree to abide by any reasonable request by the coaching staff and will be required to signify such agreement in writing at the time of enrolment.

What’s the Cost?
Cost per clinic, per sailor is €650.  This includes coaching, accommodation, airport transport on set dates, boat storage. We can also provide breakfast, lunch and dinner at a local island restaurant. The lunches are sandwich bread with filling ingredients that will be provided at breakfast. The cost of this is 26 Euro per day, per sailor.
